Following an agreement between Athletics Canada, Victoria Track Classic organizers, and Kamloops Track and Field Club, the Hammer, Shot and Discus portions of the Victoria Classic were held in Kamloops on June 16, 2022. This meet was designated for Elite throwers, and before the meet, a Developmental throws category was added to provide opportunities for other athletes to participate.

There were a number of very strong performances by both the elite throwers and the developmental throwers.
