KTFC Para Olympian Greg Stewart Is Asking For Your Help When He Goes For a Medal in Tokyo
Our own Greg Stewart is in Tokyo, getting ready to compete in the para throws event on August 31 at about 6:30 pm Kamloops time. He has asked for your help to send him emails to read between throws and to help him to stay relaxed.
This excerpt is from Kamloops This Week online from August 3rd.
He is asking the public to email — firstname.lastname@example.org — jokes, stories or words of encouragement that he will read between throws during his event.
“In 2019 at worlds, I had a book with me and asked Team Canada athletes and staff to write jokes and stories,” Stewart said. “You throw and you’ve got to wait 20 minutes to throw again. I found it to be really helpful to keep me in the moment.”
The men’s F46 shot put event is slated to begin at 6:33 p.m. (Kamloops time) on Tuesday, Aug. 31.
Please take a moment to send him your emails before the event so he can print them and take them into the venue with him.
