The City of Kamloops council has approved a proposal to re-surface the track at Hillside Stadium with a new Mondotrack surface. This is to ensure safety of athletes and the public, and to provide faster times for athletes.  The current track surface is now 14-years-old and was beginning to lift in various areas which has created areas of concern for athletes and the public. Work is expected to begin in August 2021, and track renovations are expected to be completed before winter.
