On June 18, 2022, the Kamloops Track and Field Club was able to have an Athletics Canada Permit Meet for Throws. The Kamloops Throws Festival was for both elite throwers to get another chance to make standards for World events, and for developmental throwers. Events offered were Hammer, Shot and Discus.

In total, 31 throwers participated in one or more of the throwing events offered.
